WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?

You need gloves for our kickboxing classes. We carry trial basic gloves and also fingerless Harbinger/MMA gloves as an upgrade, which you can purchase at our location, or you can bring your own gloves. In additon, we recommend bringing a sweat towel; some prefer to also bring a mat.
 DO I HAVE TO WAIT FOR A SPECIFIC START DATE?
The start dates apply only to the 10 Week Challenge, not for our other kickboxing memberships. We begin new 10 Week Challenges regularly due to the demand we have received. If you would like to sign up for a different membership, you can come in at any time as they don't have specific start dates.
DO I HAVE TO HAVE PREVIOUS KICKBOXING EXPERIENCE?
No. We encourage everyone to take a CKO kickboxing class, whether you have taken kickboxing before or not. An orientation is given to everyone prior to the first class, which includes demonstration and practice of the punches and kicks needed during the class.
  ARE THERE ADVANCED AND BEGINNER CLASSES?
The classes are not run at different levels but because everyone is working with their own heavy bag. You are able to go at your own pace. We encourage you to go slow in the beginning and then increase the intensity as you take more classes. Also, please keep in mind that all classes are co-ed.
ARE THERE AGE RESTRICTIONS?
 Adolescents (13yrs.) and adults are in the same regular classes. 
AM I RESTRICTED TO A CERTAIN NUMBER OF CLASSES PER WEEK?
Once you become a CKO member you can take an unlimited number of kickboxing classes throughout the duration of your membership. 
  IF I JOIN THIS LOCATION, CAN I USE ALL LOCATIONS?
We have different membership types (Standard and Platinum) that include certain locations and are categorized by cost. Standard members can only use Standard locations. Platinum members can use all locations except Brooklyn (Carroll Gardens, Bay Ridge) and West Caldwell.
